Milford Daily News Online Extras
March 13, 2012 12:01 a.m.

The Milford (Mass.) Daily News has 'Online Only' all over the front page.

WHAT THEY DID: They pointed print readers to every peice of multimedia they had online with stories that day (they call their version of "Online Only" "Online Extra"):

centerpiece = See a photo gallery of the Bellingham Senior Center St. Patrick's Day luncheon at milforddailynews.com
news lede = See the complete timeline at milforddailynews.com (it's a PDF)
bottom left = See more photos from the tour, plus the architect's drawing of the proposed new high school, only at milforddailynews.com
right left = See a video of the new iPads at milforddailynews.com.

THE TAKEAWAY: While Inner Circle 2012 requirements call for two "Online Only" elements each day (for dailies) and each week (for weeklies), make sure you call your readers' attention to everything you have online to go with stories. Don't stop at two if you have more.
