The Hannibal Courier-Post's Danny Henley wrote about a couple who celebrates 58 years of marriage today. Henly also shot the photo.
The Journal Star's Sarah Garfinkel profiled a family of three who all share a birthday — Feb. 14! The Star's Fred Zwicky took the shot of mom and baby.
The Rockford Register Star gave consumers some ideas on what's hot and where to get deals on flowers. Photo by Max Gersh.
The Sturgis Journal's Rosalie Currier wrote about long-lasting love with profiles of three couple. The presentation here is really nice, too. Love the quote headlines for each couple.
The Bulletin's Emilly Groves wrote about a couple caught in Cupid's crosshairs. Really nice numbers package about Valentine's Day.
A tale of love and mystery is told by The Holland Sentinel's Lisa Ermak. Nice visual.
The Patriot Ledger really gave it's front page some pop with a great but uncredited above-the-nameplate photo of a happy couple. The story, written by staffe Sue Scheible, ran inside, but you can read it here. The phot'o's credit goes to staffer Amelia Kunhardt, which I found online.
Here's another page that appeared in the Ledger. This one published late last week. It's a fun story that was literally delivered to the newsroom. An envelope arrived with Valentine's Day cards handmade by local students. (The cards can also be seen in the carousel image for this post.) Here's what one student wrote on his card:
"Dear Patriot Ledger, Thank you for all you do. I read The Patriot Ledger. You are so generous for doing your work. Happy Valentine’s Day!
— Sincerely, Mike Golden"
The cards were received on Thursday. This package ran the very next day. Fantastic!
The Repository's Denise Sautters wrote about couples who are happy without tying the knot.
The package on the page above included a promotion to this fantastic package on the Your Life page:
Filled with numbers about Valentine's Day and quotes submittd by readers. Great stuff!
If you're working on a nice package, page or section and would like to be profiled here, send page pdfs and some information on the project to my email below.
