The Journal-Register's Saturday front page has an out-of-this-world presentation of the final liftoff of the shuttle Atlantis. The fantastic photo — unfortunately no credit out front — is given a a big 6-column treatment with the nameplate. This page, especially that package, make this edition a must-read. A photo this size atrracts a great deal of attention. Love how the type — nameplate, headline and story — all are presented on top of he photo. I would have liked to have seen an unobscurred shuttle image, perhaps putting the nameplate behind a cutout of the the nose cone of the rocket boosters. This treatment helps keep large photos from competing for attention. It's obviously a great photo. Running it this big allows for the photo in the traditional centerpiece position to remain at a normal size.
Really nce page!
