In the 1930s, the Great Plains were littered with iconic steel and wood windmills, producing the energy family farms needed to water their fields. More recently, wind has gotten a technological makeover as wind turbines are becoming an increasing part of Colorado and Kansas’ financial landscape.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  This project focuses on how quickly wind farms are sprouting up, how much energy they are producing, and the financial impact they are having.

MULTIMEDIA: Elements included an online photo gallery of existing wind turbines, and some under construction.
