WHEN TO USE IT As the name suggests, this template is ideal for covering the opening of something — a new business, restaurant, school, playground, etc.

HOW TO USE IT This template has a lot of positions for text and photos than other ASF templates. Because of the added details, it's important for the reporter and/or photographer to know in advance what content is expected to fill this package. The three main parts of this package include:

• INTRO -- The main paragraph narrative should quick and concise and should pair with the main photo.

• REACTION -- Three sets of mugs and quotes help get local people in the paper, along with his or her comment on the topic.

• PHOTOS -- This portion provides more visuals and information about the subject. The photos should have a consistent size and the information should be brief.

WHERE TO FIND IT This ASF is available in QuarkXPress versions 4, 6 and 7, as well as InDesign versions CS, CS2 and CS3. All templates and fonts can be found here.
