For a second successive year, the Downers Grove Reporter has been named the best large nondaily newspaper in Illinois.
The Reporter, a publication of the Suburban Life group near Chicago, earned a total of 53 awards Friday at the Illinois Press Association’s annual presentation in Springfield, taking home the organization’s prestigious Sweepstakes Award.
The staff took first place in 20 of the competition's 36 categories:

Overall, the group earned a total of 67 awards, including 22 first places, across its 21 newspapers and 68 websites in the western Chicago suburbs.
