WHEN TO USE IT This is a great feature to use weekly on a themed religious page or in a special religious section.
HOW TO USE IT Simple and straight-forward, the format calls for information such as the year the church was built or founded, faith, number of members, a quote from the pastor, a blurb on volunteer work, a bit on church fundraisers and a listing of services. Because church architecture can be unique and iconic to readers, the dominant photo can be the exterior of the church. Readers will know exactly what church is being profiled when they're not left to guess. Secondary photo is a shot of the pastor or other church leader. The categories of information are editable, so change them to match what matters most to readers and religious institutions. Ideally, the information is best obtained by sending an e-mail with the required information to all the churches, synagogues and temples in your readership area. Also helpful is creating a form that can be downloaded from your newspaper Web site, picked up from your office or sent vie snail mail.
