The GateHouse Media News & Interactive Division has sorted through the hundreds of newspapers that have arrived at our office over the last week and several staff members are ready to start the process of evaluating newspapers as part of our Inner Circle program.

Starting later this afternoon, the following will begin the weeklong task of evaluating every GateHouse Media newspaper in Web Cube and News Cube.

The evaluators include:

David Arkin, executive director
Chris Biondi, manager of newsroom development
Jean Hodges, manager of content development
Sarah Corbitt, manager of content development

Each evaluator is assigned to newspapers they have either trained or are very familiar with based on work they have done with that newspaper or group.

Each evaluator will look through every edition that the newspaper submitted and will look for the News Cube elements. Evaluators are looking to make sure that consistency and corporate expectations are accomplished for each paper. The same exercise is conducted on each paper's website for Web Cube.

We should start naming some Inner Circle newspapers this afternoon and will do so on this blog. We'll also be sharing some best examples that we have run across, as well as clarifying content that we're looking for in areas like community partner journalism and public service journalism.
