Jonathan Schuler has been named executive editor of Suburban Life Publications, the company that publishes 21 newspapers in the western Chicago suburbs, plus more than 60 community-based websites.
Schuler, who has been with Suburban Life Publications since 2007, has served in various leadership positions within the company, most recently as managing editor. In his new role, Schuler is responsible for the group’s overall editorial direction and day-to-day operation.
“My commitment to the communities we serve is steadfast. As a news organization, we have a clear, civic responsibility to cover and address the issues that affect you, your family, your friends and your neighbors,” Schuler said. “We will push for openness and transparency in our government entities, promote dialogue and engagement in our neighborhoods and present thoughtful ideas and solutions that will make our communities a better place to live.”

Schuler, 33, was previously an editor for The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, Md., and for The Journal Newspapers in Alexandria, Va.
