Most community newspapers today run a weekly "Pick'em" contest, where staff members and community folks pick who they think will win high school, college and pro football contests that week.

Normally, it's a feature in sports sections and ads are packaged around it.

That's what the Register Mail in Illinois (a GateHouse newspaper does as well,) but they also take the feature online.

The Register Mail has a page online that offers web polls for the different games that folks pick. It's a fun interactive way for online users to react to high school sports.

Click here to check out the feature.

It may be fun to even offer the text of who each person in your "Pick'em" feature voted for online, as the web reader determines who they are going to vote for in the poll.
