The Herald News, in Fall River, Mass., helped police nab two of the city's 10 most wanted criminals. Here's how they did it.
WHAT THEY DID: From Associate Publisher LIsa Strattan: "We've done it for a couple of years now, with similar results. As soon as we got the mugs on Thursday, Jon devised a super cool image of all 10 of them with a police badge in the center, for the carousel...It went up immediately and drew instant attention. As the image didn't have IDs, however, we also put the 10 up as a photo gallery with IDs, so folks could peruse them... We tweeted, put on pinterest, facebook, etc."
As soon as the images went public, the Fall River police department began recieving calls and tips and within a week had apprehended two of the 10 on the list.
THE TAKEAWAY: This is a real public service. Does your police department have such a list? If so, partner with them to get the word out.
