Food content and, particularly, recipes tend to get huge page hits during the summer months –– actually, these stories do great all year round, from Christmas ham recipes to Thanksgiving turkey recipe to Easter egg instructions.

Using the Google Keyword Research Tool, here are some recipe and food phrases that are seeing high search volume and low competition. In other words, many people are not using proper keywords and proper keyword strategy, so even though there are plenty of searches for their content, their articles are not showing up in the Google results.

Using the right keywords in your headline, sub hed, teaser and in the story itself is imperative if you want to ensure the most hits possible.

Here are some good keywords to use in your next food story. The numbers represent the monthly searches.
