The Repository named GateHouse front page of the day (Thursday, July 2)

 

Big story out of central Ohio is that of a local police chief engaging in activities with a subordinate. The chief resigned as a result of the story, but before the video was released. What I like about the The Repository's front page centerpiece is that it deftly portrays a story that is intended for another medium — video. The package is a great example of how motion and time can be portrayed in print. "Caught on video" headline certainly is a buzz word that attracts attention, especially on the front page of a newspaper.. The content promotions are quite prominent down the right side of the package, and the timeline tells readers how and when things happened. And take a look at that skybox photo! That'll get readers lookin'! Nice page!
