When you post something on Facebook, are you using the appropriate tagging?

Tagging is helpful because the person or group you tag in your photo, status update or post will be seen by that person's or group's friends or fans. This amplifies your message, allowing it to be seen by many more people than just your friends or fans.

Photo tagging is easy enough - there is a button while you are uploading that says, "Tag this photo."

When posting a status update and mentioning a name (i.e. the mayor, a teacher, a columnist, an organization), simply type the @ sign and then the intended name. A box of options should pop up for you to pick from.

The same theory applies on Twitter. Again, simply use the @ symbol (i.e. @bloggerdee, @ghnewsroom). Likewise, join in on conversations by using hash tags. (i.e. #breastcancer #justin #halloween #christmas)
