The Suburbanite, a small weekly GateHouse newspaper in Ohio, recently made a major upgrade to its newspaper.

The newspaper redesigned and redeveloped several areas of its content as part of the upgrade.

Here are some of the highlights:

• Billboard front page with all teasers, no actual stories.

• Front page Subscriber of the Week

• (Page 2) Daily Reader photos of the day (a great place to anchor those hand-in photos)

• (Page 2) Street talk question of the week

• (Page 2) Three things to know (Quick notes about local events, relevant reminders, etc.)

• (Page 2) Best events of the week, with teaser to a calendar further back in the paper.

• Reformatted community calendar, anchored by kind of event

• (Feature pages) Anchored question and answer features on several feature fronts, including Neighbors and Business.

• (Sports) Breakouts of score leaders associated with all game stories.
