Nice work by staff photographer Glenn Dettman with his photo illustration of the story about proposed legislation to ban smoking in cars with children. The story, written by staffer Erin Pustay, clarifies that proposed law would ban smoking for children 6 years of age and younger. I guess 7-year-olds are immune to second-hand smoke, but I digress ... back to Glenn's photo.
A photo illustration is the way to go here because, really, what parent would agree to being photographed smoking with his or her young kids in the car? Looking at the photo more closely, it appers as if the image of hte children was added to the photo of the person holding a cigarette. If so, it's a nice way to use stock to illustrate a local story.
The mugs and quotes below add local faces and voices.
Elsewhere, the fun heart candy image gives the top three package some zing.
Nice page.
