A large ASF package on the front page is quite impressive when it's done well. The folks at Lake Sun did a fantastic job with the summer fun package on the cover of its weekend edition.

First of all, LOVE that main photo by staffer Jeff Burkhead. Really great shot. The story is about hot spots to cool off as the mercury rises. Each of the five locations gets a label, headline, number, photo and brief description.

See how the content forms a grid? That's how to do it right. Vertically and horizontally, all the content is in alignment.
