GHnewsroom.com is GateHouse Media's one-stop shop for all company editorial stories, ideas and announcements. The readership web site launched in May 2007 in an effort to introduce GateHouse Media newsrooms to different editorial staff members, share good ideas, editorial policy and award announcements.
The web site offers the following:
• Daily gallery of the best GateHouse Media front pages, in addition to a front page of the day.
• Blogs from a host of editorial and online GateHouse Media directors.
• Best ideas section that highlights great print and online practices of our newsrooms.
• Forum to share ideas, insight and concern.
• Awards section that highlights monthly and annual contests.

BRAD DENNISON  |  VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE NEWS & INTERACTIVE DIVISION

Brad joined GateHouse in October 2006. Prior to that, he served as vice president of news for Birmingham, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., owner of more than 90 daily newspapers. He previously held various editing positions at the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Southtown on Chicago’s South Side, The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, and earlier in his career served as a reporter, city editor and editor for various community newspapers in the Midwest and Southeast.
 
He has won numerous professional awards, including two national honors; he is a regular speaker at industry events; and he is a member of the Associated Press Managing Editors board of directors. Dennison also oversees GateHouse Media’s national sports media brand, Pro Football Weekly.

 DAVID ARKIN  |  EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE NEWS & INTERACTIVE DIVISION

David oversees all content direction for the News & Interactive Division. He runs the company's newsroom (print and online) incubator, development and training programs (including Web Cube) and all existing and new product development for GateHouse newsrooms, in addition to operating GHNewsroom.com and handling special projects. He serves frequently on industry panels and is involved with various newspaper associations.
Arkin has served as the top editor of four daily newspapers, leading them all to general excellence awards. He's won a handful of state and regional awards for writing and design and community service awards for leading projects that improved the communities he’s lived in.

JEAN HODGES  |  GATEHOUSE NEWS SERVICE EDITOR

Jean oversees operations for the news service, puts out a daily national budget and communicates with GateHouse editors to keep content coming in to the news service, and to get feedback from editors to make sure the news service is serving their needs.
Before joining GateHouse, Jean worked as an AME for news and projects editor at the Daily Southtown in Chicago. She’s also worked at the Killeen (Texas) Daily Herald, the Ely (England) Standard, and the Clovis (N.M.) News Journal, where she got her start as a reporter. She has won several state and national awards as project editor for investigative projects, and for news reporting and page design. Click here to meet more of the news service staff.

LAUREN NIEMCEWICZ  |  GATEHOUSE MEDIA NICHE GENERAL MANAGER

Lauren communicates to GateHouse publications about Niche products, gathers feedback about those products and manages the production schedule for new and existing products, in addition to content planning for special sections and products.
She began her journalism career at the Post Tribune in Merrillville, Ind., as a designer on the night news desk. She moved to the Chicago suburban group owned by GateHouse Media before being hired as Niche general manager for the news service. TOM SUDORE  |  NATIONAL EDITOR OF MULTIMEDIA/VIDEO

Tom oversees multimedia and video training and development for GateHouse newsrooms, in addition to working with field producers and editors to coordinate and oversee special projects and video reports for the GateHouse News Service video network.
He was managing editor at a newspaper group in Upstate New York before joining GateHouse. In that role, the newspaper group won several prestigious state and national awards for general excellence in print and online.

JOE GRECO  |  CORPORATE DESIGN DIRECTOR

Joe leads the newspaper redesign efforts of GateHouse publications and develops design style for print products offered to GateHouse newspapers and subscribers of GateHouse News Service. Joe also does on-site training for users of QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, in addition to writing a regular blog about newspaper design and the creative process at GHNewsroom.com.

 
Previously, Joe served as managing editor of visual for a group of GateHouse papers near Chicago; creative director of the Post-Tribune in Merrillville, Ind.; design director of The Times of Northwest Indiana, and a designer at The Detroit News. For his design work, Joe has won awards from the Society for News Design, Hoosier State Press Association, Illinois Press Association, Society for Professional Journalists and Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors.
