News Cube 2010 training schedule released

Here is the schedule for News Cube 2010 training by week. News Cube is the content strategy for this year. It includes both Web and print strategies as outlined in the Newsroom Handbook.

You'll be contacted about a month before your training with a specific date for your newspaper. We look forward to working with you.


The Herkimer (N.Y) Telegram and Little Falls (N.Y.) Evening Times recently launched new designs as part of the GateHouse News & Interactive incubator program. News & Interactive worked with editor Lorraine Heath and her staff in the Herkimer newsroom on the project.

A record number of entries were received this year for the 2009 Best of GateHouse contest.

The third-year GateHouse Media editorial contest received more than 750 entries, nearly 100 more entries than the previous two contest years.

The entries have been sent to a variety of well-respected industry judges. Those judges will pick winners in their respected categories by the end of March at which time the winners will be notified. Here are this year's judges:
