The State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill., is seeking a public safety beat reporter who can cover breaking news and craft compelling enterprise articles. The person assigned to this beat will cover a multitude of police, fire and rescue agencies in the newspaper’s coverage area, as well as fill in to provide court coverage on a spot basis. We’re looking for someone with daily newspaper experience who is comfortable posting news updates to the website and writing for the newspaper’s print editions. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
