In the quickly-changing world of multi-media, the ideal candidate for the
managing editor¹s position at The Ardmoreite, an 8,500 circulation six-day
daily with monthly website pageviews of 600,000, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, will
have skills to lead a newsroom staff of 7-10 and manage both print and
digital platforms.

We are an information company that needs a newsroom manager who can lead the
transition from in-house page design, utilizing In Design and Photoshop, to
a centralized news desk environment.

This position is hands-on and requires some evening hours, manages the
day-to-day operation of the newsroom - including page layout through the
transition The job requires focus, attention to detail, quality writing and
editing skills, ability to communicate with the public and innovation in
information content and delivery.

A degree in journalism or related field is required, plus a minimum five
years of newsroom experience. Our priorities are a passion for news and
community, detailed planning skills and excitement about the multiple
platforms for reaching audience.

The Ardmore area is located on I-35, equi-distance between Oklahoma City and
Dallas, and also is in close proximity to Lake Murray and Lake Texoma. Local
residents enjoy quality education and health care as well as many cultural
and recreational opportunities.
