What are your local politicians doing on Twitter and Facebook?

The Newton TAB took a look at what local pols are doing on Twitter. You can, too.

WHAT THEY DID: Reporter Teddy Applebaum took a look at what all four candidates for the 4th Congressional District (retiring U.S. Rep. Barney Frank's seat) are doing on Twitter. He analyzed their posting frequency, the number of followers, the number of Twitter accounts the campaigns are following and talked to the campaign spokesmen about their Twitter strategy.

THE TAKEAWAY: In an era where political campaigns are increasingly using social media to spread their message and connect with voters on a national level, it's useful to bring this to the local level and make readers and voters aware of the method behind the message. Take a look at what your local politicians are doing on Facebook.  Find out if any of them are on Pinterest.
