As part of The Day America Changed, GateHouse News Service’s 9/11 anniversary project, we've created a series of social media sites to report on anniversary events and foster a community of remembrance for Sept.11.
The 9/11 sites were created as special sections on every GateHouse Media news website. The sites feature both national and local Sept. 11 10-year anniversary content, and link directly to our national Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr pages.
Our Tumblr blog is a collection of 9/11 stories, photos and archive material from around the Web. The blog will be updated live from ground zero by GateHouse reporter Carlene Peterson the weekend of Sept. 11, and reporter Sean Driscoll will file live updates from events in Washington, D.C. If you’re on Tumblr, follow us. If you’re not on Tumblr, you can still visit the site for reports and links to the most up-to-date 9/11 anniversary news.
We’ve also created Facebook and Twitter accounts to connect with readers from across the country. In the weeks to come, we’ll be asking readers to share their stories, linking to 9/11 anniversary content from GateHouse sites, creating polls, and joining in on the worldwide conversation.
Today, social media gives us unprecedented power to connect with people across the world to report, reflect, share, and remember.
