After a week of evaluating GateHouse newspapers and websites, 178 newsrooms have been certified into the Inner Circle for the first quarter. Congratulations to all of those newsrooms!

Inner Circle measures newsrooms in several print and online categories, including updates, photo galleries, video, community blogs and Facebook, as well as categories such as specific alternative story formats in print. This year, we've added categories such as video and community blogs, and our newsrooms stepped up to the challenge.

In the last quarter of 2011, we certified 194 newsrooms, so it's exciting this year to see so many newsrooms mastering the new categories so quickly.
