Many newspapers in June asked readers to submit content for Father's Day.
Some sought kid drawings of Dad like the Norwich Bulletin and others asked for father and son lookalike photos.
The Stuggart Daily Leader in Arkansas had a simple request for readers: Send in photos of the kids with Dad. The response was terrific, which shows the power of simple reader callouts.
The Daily Leader produced a photo gallery of all 25 photos, but also made a video. The video is a nice touch to this package and because many of the photos are sentimental moments of kids and their dads, the music and the slideshow functionality makes for a nice experience. The video treatment doesn't seem to be appropriate for all reader callout presentations, but it sure works here and would work well for things like Mother's Day or other sentimental moments.
