We are excited to announce the 12 class members selected for the 2010 Leadership Series program, LEDE (Leadership, Education, Development and Enterprise). Over the next eight months, the group will participate in two training sessions at News & Interactive offices in Downers Grove, Ill., and spend time with some of the top editors in our company. The goal is to teach editors of small newsrooms and section editors of larger newsrooms the skills to lead in the next decade.

The MetroWest Daily News (Framingham, Mass.) has launched a great project idea tied in with a new HBO series that is already creating some buzz that is sure to continue for months to come: the Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks-backed World War II series "The Pacific."

MetroWest used Web callouts with great success to track down veterans to participate.

The Herkimer (N.Y) Telegram and Little Falls (N.Y.) Evening Times recently launched new designs as part of the GateHouse News & Interactive incubator program. News & Interactive worked with editor Lorraine Heath and her staff in the Herkimer newsroom on the project.

Our first two webinars in the series - on front page design and using the new template - were very informative, and we had great participation from the newsrooms.

We recently posted here about the daily Wayne Independent's new look. Today, we will show you some highlights from the three weeklies: Carbondale News, Hawley News Eagle and the Moscow Villager.

First, the new-look fronts. Note the new content in the rails and across the bottom of the pages.
