Greg Stanley reports on the communities of Loves Park and Machesney Park. He covers everything he can, from the schools and municipalities to business openings and courts. Previously he covered Roscoe, Rockton and South Beloit.

The Rockford Register Star gives high visibility to its reporters and their stories.

WHAT THEY DID: The Register Star does an excellent job of promoting its brand and marketing its staff through the online use of a photo montage. The photo, coupled with a brief bio paragraph, serves as an enhanced byline for a highlighted story on the rrstar.com home page.

THE TAKEAWAY: The presentation gives readers an opportunity to meet and connect with the reporter. Building that connection will strengthen the print and digital brand within the community and increase the visibility of the reporter. In turn, it builds greater reader trust and confidence in the reporter and the content, which will lead to a deeper and stronger coverage of the community.
