The Bridgewater (Mass.) Independent did a nice alternative story format on the price of the prom. It's timely, interesting and attractive.
WHAT THEY DID: They broke down the price of the prom in a "by the numbers" alternative story format: a graf explaining what they were doing, a short blurb with quotes from a local dress shop owner, then the numbers - the price of the dress, the tux, the limo, the corsage, the tickets, the hair and the nails.
THE TAKEAWAY: This is a great way to present a traditional story in a fresh fashion.
