WHAT THEY DID: SJ-R photographer Justin L. Fowler focuses his camera on nature as he captures images of hundreds of American white pelicans taking a break from their winter migration with a stop on the lake in Springfield, Ill.
Fowler posts the images and video on the SJ-R photo blog, Behind the Curtain. The blog features the work of the newspaper’s photo staff and offers interesting insight through the eyes of the photographer.
“I’ve always loved the work of nature photographer Art Wolfe,” Fowler writes in his blog post. “The way he captures the world is as inspiring as the subjects captured in his photographs.”
