More Americans are choosing to hang on to their cars longer.

As the economy continues to struggle, more Americans are opting to keep their cars longer. Is that what your readers are doing?

From the Bottom Line blog on MSNBC.com: "The average age of a vehicle on the road has climbed to a record 10.8 years, according to automotive research firm Polk. Last year the average vehicle on U.S. roads was 10.6 years old, up from 10 years in 2008, Polk said."

Are your readers hanging on to their cars longer? As for readers' stories on Facebook, making sure your fans know you may use them in a story.

Are local repair shops seeing more customers, as drivers nurse their aging cars just that much further down the road?
