For the third consecutive year, the Canandaigua (N.Y.) Daily Messenger has won the New York Associated Press Newspaper of Distinction award in the under 25,000 circulation category. The award was announced at the AP seminar and awards banquet held in Rochester, N.Y., Sept. 21.
The newspaper staff also won for: Editorials (Kevin Frisch); Beat reporting (Melody Burri); Entertainment tab PLAY (Nora Hicks, Ryan Williamson, Dave Wheeler, Kelly O'Connor); Brightest headline (Staff); Niche website PLAY (staff); and blogging (Dateline: Albany, by Kevin Frisch).
