For aggressive reporting on public safety, the Ardmoreite in Ardmore, Okla., was honored by the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety on Friday.

The newspaper was recognized with the Jerry Marx Memorial Award for covering issues related to safety throughout 2011. The award presentation was part of the public safety department’s 75th anniversary.

Congratulations to the staff at the Ardmoreite for a job well done.
