ROCKFORD — Matt Torman has been named nightside manager of GateHouse Media’s Metro Design House.
Matt, who began his career in 2002 with the Rockford Register Star as a copy assistant, served in multiple roles on daytime and nightside copy desks there. He was most recently the assistant delivery editor, managing production of the Rockford and Freeport newspapers and working on numerous redesign efforts.
Matt will manage production at the Rockford, Ill., editing and design desk, which will produce pages for GateHouse newspapers with a circulation of 5,000 or more. He began April 2.
When he’s not on the desk, you can find Matt on the golf course in the summer, on the basketball court whenever possible and following Chicago’s pro sports teams all year long. Last vacation: a week camping, hiking and whitewater rafting near Jackson, Wyo.
