The Repository (Canton, Ohio) has been awarded Multimedia Initiative of the Year in Division A for "Easy Street."
About the entry
The Repository profiled the residents of Easy Street in Jackson Township, Ohio, offering a comprehensive look at how people who live in the community are weathering the recession. The project had a significant online presence, with three multimedia pieces. The first is a slideshow showing photos – loaned by the matriarch of the neighborhood – of Easy Street taken through the years. “Strong photos, video and writing. They really brought the street to life. Slice-of-life stories can only be carried off by strong storytellers. I think they accomplished their mission. … Their varied story selection was well-rounded and well-polished. The multimedia aspects were well-executed.
