High school football season is kicking off soon, and several GateHouse papers have it covered with Football Fever sites. Check out these good examples:
-- The State Journal-Register's Prep Football site is all set up for Friday, with game schedules and a place for the night's scores, photo galleries from last year's playoffs, videos with local coaches, a blog and a callout for reader football photos.
-- The Holland Sentinel's Football Fever site is stacked with team photos, videos from last year's playoffs, stories and schedules.
-- The Herald News' Friday Night Fervor site has audio of an interview with a new coach, plus last year's stories to get readers up to speed for this season.
-- The Observer-Dispatch's football site touts the paper's Friday Night Live multimedia coverage.
-- Lake News Online's Game Night site is sponsored by a grocery store and a medical group. The visual team schedules and Twitter feed are great touches.
-- The Linn County Leader's Football Fever site is also a multimedia leader, with photos, video and Twitter.
-- The Neosho Daily News' Game Night site has area teams covered with Twitter, staff picks, interview audio and an ad for fall sports schedule posters available at the newspaper offices.
If you have a high school football microsite, let me know, and I'll write about it in a future post.
COMING TUESDAY ON GHNEWSROOM: A how-to video on using the new Zope scores ticker.
