2 GateHouse web sites are finalists for EPpy Awards

Two GateHouse Media newspapers are finalists in the 2009 EPpy Awards.

The awards are sponsored by Editor & Publishers and Mediaweek magazines.

The Arlington Advocate, a weekly newspaper in New England, was a finalist in the best weekly newspaper-affiliated web site category. Other finalists in that category include: Baltimore City Paper and New York Observer.

The Repository's Fridaynightohio.com high school football site is a finalist in the best sports web site with fewer than 1 million unique monthly visitors category. Other finalists in that category include: Elsesports.cat and Las Vegas Sun -- Rebels, Greenspun Interactive.

EPpy winners will be announced at the annual Interactive Newspaper Conference and Trade Show in New Orleans on May 7.
